Ocean Station PAPA
OSV PAPA was located in the north Pacific at N50 W145. Over the years four vessels manned this station on a rotational basis. "The Stone Town" and "St. Catherines" were converted WW2 corvettes and covered the period of 1950? to 1967. From 1967 to 1982 the purpose built weather ships "Quadra" and "Vancouver" took on the duty.
Some of the meteorological and electronics technicians associated with the vessels have been getting together yearly in recently.
